Rev. Joan D. Lee passed into the Light on Sunday, July 17, 2011. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ, on
August 30, 1934. Rev. Joan was a pioneer in the development and progression of the spiritual
community of Central New York. She was a strong advocate of metaphysics and laid a foundation of
its concepts and philosophies through teaching its principles for the past 23 years. She founded and
was the presiding minister of First Congregation of Infinite Light in Syracuse for 17 years. Her
husband, Rev. Raymond L. Lee, recently deceased, was also a minister of the church. They were
married for 55 years. She was an exceptional teacher and enjoyed her students and congregation.
Her cats and gardening gave her great enjoyment. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to New
Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will be
held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Taunton Presbyterian Church, 4326 Fay Road, Syracuse,
